Thursday 14th March | Term 1 Week 7

*** Don’t forget to join us for the Maadi Parade at 11am on Sunday***

Kia ora e te whānau,

We extend our gratitude to all parents and students who joined us for the annual barbecue and parent consultation on the formalisation of our Graduate Profiles. It was a delightful evening, and your presence made it truly special. We appreciate the valuable feedback regarding our values statements and eagerly anticipate gathering more insights as we shape our 2025-2027 Strategic Plan. If you could not share your thoughts during the event, fret not; a survey link is provided later in this newsletter for your convenience.

We bid Heather Dixon farewell as she embarks on maternity leave next week. We warmly welcome Pranal Prasad, who will cover Heather’s maternity leave and eventually transition into the role of Mathematics Teacher upon Mr O’Carroll's retirement later in Term 2.

Thank you to Melissa McLellan, Brooke Smith, and Sharon Reid for their dedicated efforts in organising a transition afternoon for our upcoming new entrants. We eagerly anticipate embarking on this new chapter in their children’s educational journey.

We're excited about the enriching experiences our students are having with external group visits in the last week. Our staff have again had the privilege of working with a DMIC (Developing Mathematical Inquiry Communities) advisor from Massey University. Currently, Rudi and Harold from Life Education are fostering positive social interactions among our Year 1-8 learners, and we recently welcomed representatives from Otago University to engage with our older learners.

Parents, please be on the lookout for nomination and voting materials for our upcoming mid-term Board Election. We seek to appoint two new parent members through the election, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming individuals with expertise in building, consenting, and/or finance. Additionally, we will soon hold a Student Representative Election. If your child from Years 9-13 is interested in serving as the Student representative on the Board of Trustees, encourage them to seek nomination.

The Twizel Netball Committee has requested the use of our vans on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the Netball season. We understand that various groups may require the use of our vans. If your group needs to negotiate van usage during the netball season, please contact our main office at (03) 435 0650. We will organise a meeting to decide on priority use collectively.
