TERM 3, WEEK 5

Tēnā koutou,

Thanks to all our whānau who turned out for our option selection evening on Thursday night.  It was great to see so many people interested in what 2024 could look for their child(ren). The teachers who were present said that they were non-stop talking to different whānau about their subjects - so cool!  We really do appreciate your engagement in events such as these.

The excerpt below is from the latest Ministry of Education bulletin:

You will have seen that the Government has announced the removal of the mandatory COVID isolation rule, which took effect on 15 August 2023.

All COVID-19 requirements removed – Unite against COVID-19

Public health officials have advised risk from COVID-19 is now considered low compared to other stages of the pandemic and it is safe to remove the final requirements.

As with any other illness it is recommended that students stay at home if they are feeling unwell.

Below are some important panui (notices):

Option Selection
Online Subject Selection will be open from this evening - students can log into the school point system and select subjects for 2024. After September 4, the online system closes and the 2024 school timetable is developed. Your child will then have subject selection interviews with their Dean or corresponding Deputy Principal, to ensure they have made the best selection for them.  Please take the time to sit with your child(ren), and support them to make the best decision for their future pathways.

Late in Term 4 and early 2024 students will be able to make changes to their subjects, however, these will be within the constraints of the timetable system.

Schoolpoint can be accessed via the school website or the following link: https://taupo.bridge.school.nz/

Open Evening
Our annual open evening takes place next week on Thursday night, starting in our school hall at 6 p.m.  It is an opportunity for potential new enrolments, or for whānau of existing students to hear more about our school and be taken on a tour around our facilities.  If you have friends or family who are interested in enrolling their children at our kura next year, please spread the word about this event.

Ngā mihi
