A Wishbone, a Backbone and a Funnybone |
I have touched on the thinking of Gilbert Enoka and his successful mentoring of teams such as the All Blacks, EPL Premier Teams, the Warriors and individuals such as Shaun Johnson and Richie McCaw. This mentoring messaging is no less important and relevant to the success of our Rangatahi. Some of this successful messaging is; Have you got a WISHBONE?
- What is your dream this week, this term, this year?
- What is your goal this week, this term, this year?
- Keep it simple and achievable so you can start seeing rewards at the end of a week, term and then the year.
Do you have a BACKBONE?
- Have I got a planner that I use?
- Do I know when my assessments and milestones are due?
- Have I got a good Routine using my planner and school?
- Have I got the Discipline to complete tasks?
Do I look for my FUNNYBONE?
- Do I take the chance to laugh at things?
- Have I got a couple of good friends I can be with at school?
- Do I look for opportunities to have fun such as sports, culture or just good socializing?
If you are consistent in having a Wishbone, Backbone and Funny Bone your learning journey will ensure you are Better Than Before (BTB)
