Celebrating Success and Being Better Than Before

It has been a week of celebrating the academic success of 2024.
Our Achievers Assemblies took place over two evenings: Wednesday was dedicated to Year 13 students, while Thursday focused on Year 12 students. The event was split into two nights because the Jackson Auditorium cannot accommodate all of our students, families, and whānau in one evening, which is a great challenge to have.

Here are some of the highlights;

  • 12 NZQA Academic Scholarships were awarded, with one student, Alex Lay, receiving an 'Outstanding Scholar Award,' one of only 55 in New Zealand.
  • 120 Merit Endorsement Badges  presented for Level 1 & Level 2 NCEA achievers
  • 55 Excellent Endorsement Badges presented for Level 1 & Level 2 NCEA Achievers
  • Over 700 NCEA Academic Achievers from 2024
  • Level 1, 2, & 3 NCEA results are above the National and Decile/equity results.
  • Every ethnic group is above the National/Decile/Equity average for NCEA Levels 1, 2 & 3

As parents, you understand the sacrifices that have contributed to these results. We celebrate and acknowledge the hard work and discipline that these achievements represent.
Nothing comes without hard work, discipline and structure.
I will cover these area in later newsletters, but for now let's enjoy being Better Than Before (BTB)

Ngā mihi
Mark P Shanahan
