6th December 2024 Newsletter

Kia Ora Tatou,
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in the Christmas Curse production. During the daytime performances hearing the primary school students joining in made me look forward to the show even more. On the evening I loved the performance and seeing our students step up on stage.
This was the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people. It started with the Y10 Drama option students working with Miss Fiveash. In that class they generated the ideas and storyline. The whole production was then entirely written, choreographed, produced and directed by South Otago High School students and staff. A big thank you to everyone that helped.
Junior activities
Despite the lower than usual number of students on site the school has been quietly humming with junior activities ranging from international cooking to arts and crafts and cultural activities. I am hearing positive reports from day trips and those on overnight activities too. I look forward to hearing more about these and we will have a full report in next weeks newsletter.
And finally….
Its a shorter report than normal but still plenty to look forward to next week. Ki O Rahi on Monday will be great fun and ideally we will have less wind to contend with by then. On Tuesday we have our final assembly and prizegiving. We will be ready to welcome you to our prizegiving at the school Hall or online through our usual live stream.
