Reflections on Term Three: Celebrating Achievements and Looking Ahead

Term Three concludes with some celebrations of achievements from throughout the year and the awareness that Year 12 and 13 students have only 2 school weeks left after the study break. The key takeaway from 'right here right now' is..., are we Better Than Before (BTB)?
Our Sports Dinner celebrates and acknowledges the time and effort that students, coaches, teachers, family and whānau have put in over the season of sport to compete at their level and push on to win titles in their season. While the results of many individuals and teams have been outstanding this season, with at least 6 Championship Titles, it is important to acknowledge and reward each person involved for the outstanding effort in training and preparation that has gone in this season. Well done.

Our Arts & Culture Awards celebrated and acknowledged the effort, skill, planning and preparation of students and teachers with the support of family and whānau that has made this year a success for so many students. Talent is natural but performance requires hard work, study, repetition, and manawanui to be better than before.
Once again, well done on the work done this year in the Arts and Sporting arenas.
Academic success and reward are in the same frame right now. We have Senior Study Break next week with Subway for Success on Monday here at school and many departments open during the week for assessment completion and external exam preparation. Use this study break week well and the first two weeks of term four to complete work and prepare for the finals.
Success comes from hard mahi. So do the mahi to be Better Than Before!

Ngā mihi

Mark P Shanahan
