 Term 3 -  Week 7

Tēnā koutou,

Spring has sprung!  I hope you have been able to enjoy the slightly lighter mornings and evenings lately.  It’s a great time of year I reckon!

We are pleased to be able to launch our new website!  We would love you to check it out here https://www.taupocollege.ac.nz/ and let us know your thoughts.  A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to get our website to a place where we are happy to share it with our community.  We hope you find it more user friendly than the previous website and enjoy some of the new features such as the hover menu on the main page, and the flip tiles on the sport page.

Term 3 has been busy!  It has been really nice to have a term without any disruption.  This week has been winter tournament week which involves a number of our sports teams competing against other teams from across the motu.  Check out our results in the relevant section below.

The next few weeks are just as action-packed with our derived grade exams starting next week, The Tūwharetoa Taiopenga Festival in week 9, and then our annual Spirit Week (a week of fun activities to celebrate our school spirit) in week 10.

Below are some important panui (notices):

Ballot for 2024
We are holding a ballot for students starting as Year 9 students and Year 13 students in 2024 who live out of our school zone.  The ballot will be held on Wednesday 13 September.  If you live out of our school zone but have a child in Year 8 or Year 12 who wishes to attend our school it’s important to get their application form into the office ASAP.

Policy review
This term’s policy review is now available for our school community to provide feedback.  Log in via www.schooldocs.co.nz and then use the following credentials to provide feedback.  Select current review once logged in

Option selection
Online Subject Selection is still open.  Students can continue to log into the school point system and select subjects for 2024. After September 4, the online system closes and the 2024 school timetable is developed. Your child will then have subject selection interviews with their Dean or corresponding Deputy Principal, to ensure they have made the best selection for them.  Please take the time to sit with your child(ren), and support them to make the best decision for their future pathways.

Late in Term 4 and early 2024 students will be able to make changes to their subjects, however, these will be within the constraints of the timetable system.

Schoolpoint can be accessed via the school website or the following link: https://taupo.bridge.school.nz/

Ngā mihi
