Halfway There, but Halfway to Where? |
We are just finishing week 5 of a 9 week term. So we are over half way through this term. The last 4 weeks are shortened by King's Birthday and Matariki so there is even less time than we think. Our Year 10 and Senior school are completing their Common Assessment Activities (CAA) which are a prerequisite for achieving NCEA in Years 11, 12, and 13. We hope that the preparation that has gone in by students and teachers helps get many of our students through this Literacy and Numeracy NCEA prerequisite. Senior students should now have confirmed and marked NCEA credits in each subject at this point of the year.
- Year 11 - should have 5 credits loaded from 1 Achievement Standard (AS) in each subject totaling about 25 credits. With positive milestone progress in their next standard in each subject.
- Year 12 & 13 - should all have at least 1 AS loaded worth 4-5 credits and are well on their way to completing another AS this term.
- So 20 - 35 credits now and by the end of the term in Years 12 & 13.
|
This ensures that Term 3 allows a focus on the practise External AS that we will do in Exam Week in Term 3 in preparation for the November Externals. Discuss with your children and tamariki where their credit count is sitting to ensure they are on track as we go through this term. Getting these AS credits and milestones for credits locked in now is crucial to academic success. We want all our rangatahi to be halfway to success.
