Thursday 11th April | Term 1 Week 11 |
Kia ora e te whΔnau,
As we approach the end of Term 1, we are excited to invite you to our End of Term assemblies in the Theatre to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students. It's an opportunity for us to come together as a community and recognise our young learners' hard work and dedication. Please mark your calendars:
- Years 1-6 Assembly: 1-2 pm (For your convenience, parents can take students home directly after the junior assembly if they wish to do so).
- Years 7-13 Assembly: 2-3 pm
We also want to inform the parents of Year 11-13 students that their first Mentoring Reports for 2024 will be available through SchoolBridge on Friday, 12th. This is an important update to keep track of your child's progress.
Thank you to Sandy Nelson for organising the week's Te Ana Rock Art local curriculum visit. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved to delve into our regional history and learn from our cultural heritage. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to Charlotte Saunders for her support of our senior Drama students at the Sheilah Winn Festival in Timaru. Your dedication to enriching our students' educational experiences is appreciated.
As we approach the end of the term, we want to emphasise the importance of attendance and punctuality. We've noticed an increase in student lateness at the start of the day. While we understand that mornings can be challenging, arriving late disrupts the learning environment and can be unsettling for students. We kindly request your cooperation in ensuring students arrive promptly at the start of the school day.
We'll again seek nominations for the Board of Trustees after the school holidays. If you're interested in learning more about this role, please don't hesitate to contact the office for further information.
Heads-up for the start of Term 2:
- Term starts: Monday, 29th April
- BoT Meeting: 1st May @ 5 pm
- Middle School Soul Talk Day: 3rd May
- Netball Skills: 8th May
- M4 commence their Youth Employability Training with Hannah Beer: 6th May
- PPTA Paid Union Meeting: 16th May - school closes for Y7-13 students at 12.30 pm.
Finally, we wish everyone a wonderful break filled with rest, relaxation, and quality time with loved ones. We look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for Term 2.
He waka eke noa, Kate Staniford Tumuaki | Principal
