Grateful to be back to a new normal |
After 3 years of disruption with the global pandemic and an interrupted Term 2 with industrial action, our college, teaching and student learning processes are back on track. We are on familiar ground with routines of relationships, learning and planning that allow students to plan ahead with certainty.
The certainty surrounding positive and typical learning environments within our school, as evidenced by;
- Course Selection Interviews (CSI) for courses in 2024.
- School-wide senior exams/assessments in week 9.
- Careers expo to see the relevance and pathways of their subjects.
- The Senior school ball
- Winter Tournament Week in week 7.
- Learning Recognition Credits no longer exist.
- School Production - Bring it on.
- Academic tutorials are on offer weekly after school.
As a college and nation, we have held the ground, adapted and rebounded to ensure our rangatahi, family, and whānau can plan for the future knowing we can respond and recover when things go wrong. I am grateful I work in a school and live in a country that can celebrate this. "We cannot control what happens to us, we can only control how we respond to the situation."
We have now completed week 5 of term 3 with about 33 actual teaching and learning days left for our seniors. Be grateful for the certainty you now have and work harder and smarter in the time available to ensure your future has better options.
