Kia ora e te whānau,
Welcome to the latest edition of the Twizel Area School newsletter. As we move into the heart of winter, we're excited to share some important updates and upcoming events with our school community.
Farewell to Mark Frost - 25 Years of Service to TAS and the Community With mixed emotions, we bid farewell to Mr Mark Frost, who has dedicated an incredible 25 years of his life to Twizel Area School and our community. Mr Frost's commitment, passion, and unwavering support have left an indelible mark on countless students' lives. His presence will be sorely missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours. An article later in this newsletter contains pictures from his leaving assembly. Enjoy Kazakhstan and all it brings, Mark!
Roofing Minor Works to Remediate Leaks After a long period of negotiation and waiting, we’ve been able to commence some minor roofing works to address a leak issue close to the front of the building, following MoE approval. This means that Year 7-13 students will temporarily exit the building for PE via the main office. Apologies for the crush if you are visiting us at class changeover times.
Upcoming Trips - Netty Fests and Skating As the school year progresses, some exciting trips are lined up for our students. We would like to wish all the best to our students participating in the upcoming Netty Fests and Skating events. These opportunities promote physical activity and skill development and foster teamwork and camaraderie among our students. We're proud of their dedication and hard work, and we know they'll represent Twizel Area School with pride.
A Big Thank You to All Parent Helpers We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful parents who have volunteered their time and energy to support our recent school activities. Your assistance during various events and initiatives is invaluable, and it truly takes a village to create a vibrant and engaging learning environment for our students. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to Twizel Area School. If you’d like to assist with school activities, here is a link to the sign-up forms.
Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter. Stay warm and keep shining, Twizel Area School whānau!
He waka eke noa.
