14 Days for credits in NCEA |
From next Monday onwards there are 14 teaching days left this term. It is the responsibility of us all to ensure we get the most out of these 14 days. Our 3 Pillars - students, teachers/staff, family and whānau need to work together to achieve this.
Teachers - will in nearly all subjects at Level 1, 2, and 3 NCEA be carrying out an assessment worth credits. This information will be with students in their course planners. It will cover the standard, amount of credits and what days the assessment will be taken.
Students - Need to have in their planners the day the assessment is due, how many credits it is worth, and have prepared for the assessment. There are NO surprises with internal assessments.
Parents/Whānau - Need to ask their son/daughter/tamariki when their 5 assessments are due and what they have to have done to meet the milestones in the project subjects like Art, Technology etc. Students should have this information in their Google Classroom folders and should be able to show parents the course outline and assessment dates.
If we all work together on our teenagers managing their assessments in these 14 days, term 1 will be a productive, positive term.
Knowledge is power at this time of the term.
