It is a great privilege to serve as the tumuaki of Mangakōtukutuku College.
I was deeply humbled by the pōwhiri that welcomed me, reminding me of the significance of this role within our kura. The manaakitanga I’ve received from staff and students this week has truly moved me.

As I shared during my pōwhiri, my goals as Principal are clear:
To ensure our student outcomes match those of any other learners across Aotearoa
To build a curriculum that reflects the dreams and aspirations of our rangatahi
To foster teaching and learning environments grounded in safety and strong support for our young people.

Our college is on a positive path, guided by a committed Senior Leadership Team and passionate staff. I am eager to support the ongoing focus on self-improvement across our kura.

In the coming term, I look forward to meeting with whānau to kōrero about your aspirations for the college. Your insights and hopes are vital to our shared journey.

Ngā mihi nui

Year 12 - 13 Hospitality

Our Year 12 and 13 Hospitality students, alongside Whaea Sara and Whaea Trish, proudly catered for the pōwhiri welcoming our new principal. This special event was an opportunity for our students to showcase their skills in a real-world setting, preparing and serving a beautiful selection of kai for manuhiri and staff. Their professionalism, teamwork, and attention to detail were outstanding, and their efforts were warmly received by all in attendance. Ka rawe to our Hospitality team for helping to make the occasion memorable and meaningful.

 Japanese Quiz Night

Four Year 10 students participated in the trivia quiz event this evening at Hillcrest high school.  Elvin, Azariah, Lesley and Gloria won the costume award, in addition to finishing in 3rd place out of five teams. They had a great time.
