Thursday 12th December | Term 4 Week 9
**Final newsletter of 2024**

Kia ora e te whānau!

In this, our last newsletter of 2024, we approach the end of another school year. I’m looking forward to celebrating our learners' successes at the Prizegiving on Friday and seeing their excited faces as they head off into their summer!

Throughout the week, our Middle School were challenged by the daily events of Activities Week. Well done to those of you who have stepped up to the challenge, and thank you to our teachers for supporting such a massive event at the end of the school year. Special thanks to our Middle School Leaders who organised many of the activities - Riley Beattie, Myah Gilchrist, Hazel Mason and Indie Thyne.

For the Junior School, their Fun Day will go ahead on Thursday - as I write this, I’m wishing you a wonderful day!

A couple of ‘Heads Up’ comments:

  • End-of-Year Reports for students in Years 1-10 will be available via SchoolBridge by the end of this week
  • School starts for all students on 3rd February 2025 (Year 11-13 students are required to attend on January 31st for Peer Support Training - details will be sent closer to the time).

Best wishes for a fabulous summer break - enjoy the time with your young people - they grow so fast! Meri Kirihmete!

He waka eke noa,

Kate Staniford
Tumuaki | Principal

The Twizel Area School Prizegiving Assembly will take place tomorrow, at the Twizel Events Centre, beginning at 10.30 am.  It is an opportunity for parents, caregivers and whānau members to join us and celebrate the students' achievements.

Students will meet in their House rooms at the normal time and be escorted to the Community Centre for the Prizegiving ceremony. Following the ceremony, they will return to their House Rooms for dismissal at approximately 12 noon.

ALL SENIOR STUDENTS must attend school at the normal time. They can then attend the Prizegiving Assembly at 10.30 am.

Uniform - All students need to wear the correct school uniform for the Prizegiving ceremony. If you do not have the correct school uniform items, please arrange to borrow these items. Any students who are not in full uniform for this formal occasion cannot attend the assembly and will remain at school to help with the end-of-year clean-up.

If you are unsure of the uniform regulations, please refer to the school website: Uniform.

Market Day a Huge Success!

Ka pai to all our Middle School students involved in organising and running last week's Middle School Market Day. 🛍️ From planning their stalls to managing loans and calculating profit margins, the students gained hands-on experience in running a small business.
