How the new school.kiwi Web Portal will affect SchoolBridge & SchoolPoint

We have had a fair amount of communication regarding the upcoming new version of the school.kiwi Web portal and how it will affect SchoolBridge and SchoolPoint

When your school updates to the new school.kiwi Web Portal, the main change will be how our software can communicate with your data is be the loss of the ability to automatically transfer course selection data from SchoolPoint back into KAMAR.

Schools will still be able to safely import course selection data via a manual csv file import.

The new school.kiwi Web Portal has been redesigned from the ground up to be mobile friendly and no longer supports the dedicated mobile Apps. This change also means the loss of the ability to automatically transfer course selection data from SchoolPoint back into KAMAR.

KAMAR has made improvements to the import feature to allow importing directly from a csv into KAMAR without having to use Database Tools.

The data shared via the Directory Service to populate SchoolBridge and SchoolPoint with staff, student and caregiver information will not be affected by the new portal.

The single sign-on feature for students and caregivers between the portal and SchoolBridge will be improved for all schools.

KAMAR hope to release the portal in the coming weeks, and will support the current self-hosted portal until the end of this year.

New Portal Features

The portal offers many other new features, improved online enrolment forms, better mobile support and now our integrated SchoolBridge sign in.

Data Sharing Settings

In the new portal, students and caregivers will be able to see the Directory Services that your school has setup, and control what/if their data will be shared with each service.

You can add description for each service in:
KAMAR => SETUP => Server => Data Sharing Service.

We have already had schools affected by this change, so it's worth adding a description for all of your services.
