We move into the final week of the year for our Junior students and the completion of NCEA External Exams.
Next week we host our Year 9 and 10 Prize-Giving on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:45 am. We celebrate our last full school day with students with the Big Day In on Friday 9th December. This is our celebration and tabloid games day which closes with a junior school Haka as the final event of the year.
It will be our first opportunity to hold these events in two years so a first for all our Year 9 & 10 students.
Our Year 10 camp students have spent the week in the Coromandel under canvas. Again the first time in two years. So a rewarding and memorable experience for both the students and staff being able to strengthen their learning relationship culture with so many students. Experiences like Hahei beach, Cathedral Cove, banana boat rides, and sea caves are experiences that could be a first for many and create lifelong positive memories for some.
Once again I want to thank the students, staff, family and whānau for such dedicated commitment to positive learning experiences this term for our junior students, and solid preparation and completion of the NCEA programme for our senior students to take every opportunity to achieve.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has shared NZ Secondary School attendance information with us that Waitākere College has had the highest attendance of all schools in NZ in 6 categories over terms 1 and 2. Well done to all for the commitment and support to ensure our rangatahi feel valued and confident in our College to ensure they can be the 'Best They Can Be.'
