As mentioned last week, Term 3 is the 'money' term. Although it may seem like there is plenty of time, tasks can easily slip away or catch us off guard. This is why I refer to it as the slow ambush. In our planning, it is crucial to have a clear calendar of events for this term. This will help us manage our time effectively, enabling us to complete assessments and prepare for externals. We successfully completed our Open Evening for the community last week, and we are now fully engaged in new enrolments and staffing appointments for 2025. For our staff and students, here is a brief overview of school events that should be prioritized to ensure academic success takes precedence over other activities. Workaround:
- Week 3: Course Selection Interviews (CSI), Futures EXPO
- Week 4: Sports & Cultural Photos
- Week 5: School Ball
- Week 6: Tournament Week, Mid Term break
- Week 8 & 9: Numeracy and Literacy Assessments
- Week 9 & 10: Senior Assessment Week & External Derived Grades
- Week 10: Senior Assessment & Derived Grades continue. Sports Awards Evening.
Ensure your planner for the term is managed around these events that may impact you so that you can achieve to be the best you can be and avoid the slow ambush of these events disrupting your learning.
