This week has been one of recognition. It is the opportunity to acknowledge the completion of a year's work, the tipping point of moving from internal to external assessments, and the anticipation of seniors leaving the College. These celebrations are about valuing the work, and effort that students, teachers and staff, family and whānau - what I refer to as our three pillars, put in to ensure our students reach success this year.
The saying, "Proper planning prevents poor performance," refers to the work and effort to prepare for exams and assessments, as how to be prepared for the workforce with respect, reliability and punctuality so that the team you are in, whether it be your workplace, your family, or your group of friends can be the best they can be. We recognise and celebrate our students and community with events such as;
- Senior Prizegiving awards
- Services Academy final march-out parade and graduation ceremonies
- ISC Te Rangimārie celebration
- Senior leavers dinner
Congratulations to the year 10 students who have now sat the National Common Assessment Tasks in Numeracy, Literacy and Comprehension this week. These will provide a benchmark of where our year 10 cohort of students sit with respect to the rest of the country. It also allows those who pass to 'bank' their credits for NCEA Level 1.
Well done.
