Welcome back to Term 3.
As a College we see the next 10 weeks as the most important term for student Achievement. Students in years 11, 12 and 13 must maximize their opportunities to complete their Internal Assessments ( Internals) while preparing for External Assessments( Externals) which start on November 7th week 4 of Term 4. How do we make sure our year 11, 12 and 13 students achieve this term?
Students must
- Own and know what they have to do to complete and achieve assessments.
- Plan their weekly timetable so their tasks are broken down and completed rather than leaving it as one big task.
- Use your 2022 Student Planner
- Track their own credit count progress via the parent portal on the number of credits and follow the 'NCEA Latest'
- Seek feedforward from their teachers on what to change and adjust to get an A,M,E
- Attend, attend, attend
Teachers must
- Provide clear tasks and timelines for each standard.
- Ensure the assessment criteria for A,M,E is available and explicit.
- Upload moderated results to the Portal for 'NCEA Latest'
- Use good exemplars and feedforward for students to work towards
- Be clear on credit counts for Literacy/Numeracy and UE Literacy
Parents/Whanau need to
- Ask their tamariki what assessments/standards they are currently working in each subject
- Check the 2022 Student Planner to make sure their tamariki have recorded due dates.
- Look on the Parent Portal for NCEA Latest credit count.
- Make sure their son/daughter/tamariki attend, attend, attend.
This is THE term to bank as many credits as possible to pathway into year 12, year 13 and University or the high-end Trades. Let's ensure our Three Pillars work together for the best outcomes for our rangitahi.
