Are we there yet? We are nearly halfway through our academic year and close to the end of term 3. So while we are not there yet it is important to know how we are going at this point of the year. To measure progress and set and reset goals.
The great thing about this time of the year is that there is time to recover. Subject Reports will be available at the Subject Parent Teacher Interviews which will be held over two nights on Thursday 30/6/22 and Tuesday 5/7/22. Bookings for these interviews can be made online. We have placed them over two different nights for whanau with work commitments and both Junior and Senior interviews can occur on the same evening for ease with family and whanau. Use these evenings to become involved and informed in your tamariki or mokopuna's progress and goal resets this year.
As you know we have modified our Friday and Monday timetable by dropping period 5 on those two days. While student attendance has been very solid at above 85% we have been managing large amounts of staff sickness. While our relief teachers have been coping very well we have also had to increase the workload on staff present. This has been a cause of fatigue and wasn't sustainable causing more staff sickness. We have devised a plan so these 6 'windows' of no teaching provide a circuit breaker for teachers so we can be at our best until the end of term. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support. So while we are not there yet, there is the chance for a catch-up to plan and integrate the best opportunities available for the rest of our academic journey this year.
