Week five marks the halfway point of term two.
It is about us as a school checking our milestones to see where we are and then using that information to make changes for the second half of term two and preparation for term 3. Once again, the theme is about making the most of the opportunities that come our way.
We have seen the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) students take the opportunity to promote their business model ideas, and I am sure they will grow in experience from the feedback as they move forward.
We continue to strengthen our relationships with some of our contributing schools with our year 8 Sports Taster Day. These intermediate students get to experience our facilities and, more importantly, the coaching relationship between coaches, senior student coaches, and them as students to develop their skills.
Assessment week for the senior school starts on Monday, 30/5/22.
This is the opportunity to set explicit tasks for students to ensure that their understanding of the work is valid. The opportunity to 'bank' well deserved credits if they have been applying themselves. The opportunity to also make sure students cannot assume that positive results come without hard work. Hard work + preparation = positive rewards.
In most cases, students should now have explicit information about assessment tasks next week. We now assume students will take this opportunity to prepare and get positive results.
Let's make sure this halfway point gives us a solid plan for the second half.
