As we come to the end of week 6 of term 2, our assessment week also comes to an end and the opportunity to be informed of the academic progress of our rangitahi as a result of this assessment week will be provided by subject reports followed by Parent Report Evenings in week 9 and 10.
The concept of assessments and assessment week is crucial in this NCEA framework that our year 11- 13 students operate in. We need feedback in a formal process to provide a marker of how we are going. It gives us all an opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and make appropriate changes to ensure we can get the maximum achievement out of our academic year.
Our innovative model of assessment week ensured that we had maximum testing opportunities with a minimum impact on the teaching and learning over this period. We are moving into the middle of winter with our winter team's sports programme well underway. I encourage and thank you for supporting your son, your daughter, or mokopuna in continuing to participate positively in one of our sports teams. You'll see in this newsletter the opportunity for the Year 10 camp held in the Coromandel, our little slice of paradise. Of course, it is in summer, but the planning, like all summer holidays, starts now. Plan for the summer fun now, by doing the academic mahi in these 4 winter months. Do the mahi now, and rewards will follow.
