One uninterrupted Monday to Friday school week of learning. I am grateful for the small things, so to be in this position, and looking forward to as many uninterrupted school weeks as possible sets a very positive tone for the College. We may need to pivot as, and when things out of our control occur. We will respond as needed. But at the moment consistent, positive learning at school is a great situation to be in.
We have started our Words of the Week (WoW) which are in the student planner every Monday morning period 1. Weekly Reports (in email and issued to each student on Friday) which act as a 'heads up' for you and the student to gauge and guide progress. Txt absent whānau if we have had no attendance or communication by period 2. Daily Panui/Newsletter emailed to each student and displayed on our website.
These are some of our positive routines to ensure you are informed, involved and included in the educational journey of our rangatahi. We have celebrated our Year 9 'Meat & Greet' where our parents and whānau met their Tutor Teacher and Dean, and got to know some of our systems to make the journey for everyone that much better. Next week is another full week with Friday 3/3/23 a normal full school day (repeating Day 2 of the timetable) and we look forward to embedding good learning routines.
