Thank you and congratulations on getting to the end of a busy term. We have had 10 uninterrupted weeks of opportunities to learn, achieve and connect. It has not been without challenges however, the manawanui shown by staff, students, family, and Whānau have helped us through. I am grateful for all the events and opportunities that have occurred to enrich the lives of our students and community. We have had cultural celebrations around Matariki, Sāmoan independence celebrations, an NCEA Accord Day in planning for 2023 and beyond, Assessment Week, Reports, Blessing of buildings, and Parent-Teacher Evenings. We have been able to proceed through this term while balancing the ongoing health management of our staff and students with Covid and Flu. While also managing two construction sites within the school.
I am grateful for our attendance staying above 85% over the whole term with outstanding attendance averages by our Year 13, Year 12, and Year 9 students. This will ensure they have a solid foundation for assessment in term 3 and have established good learning routines. Our key objective has been to reconnect with family and whānau and I am grateful that so many parents were able to attend the Parent-Teacher Evenings. I hope that in those meetings our staff was able to specify the 'work ons' for term 3 for your tamariki or mokopuna. Thank you for taking the opportunity to reconnect.
I am once again grateful to our staff, who on top of classroom teaching, coach and manage sports and cultural activities, as well as extra tutorials before and after school including the Subway Study Workshops which will in this term break. I wish to thank you and Ngā mihi for this term and encourage you to share thanks and gratitude with friends, family, and whānau during this break.
